Is there a way to hook the factory sub up through a aftermarket head unit? I would think you can just tap into the wiring harness. Has anybody tried?

My rear pinion seal on my rear diff of my 2000 XLS has been leaking for a while, Just lately it has gotten worse so I guess I gotta change it lol, Any special methods of changing this seal? The one I got from the local auto store just looks like a normal ring style seal, I want to try and change this out tomorrow after work.

I'm back with an EXPLORER!

Just picked up this BEAST to be my winter vehicle.

96' V8 2WD. 162k on the clock. Paid $1400 for it, the exterior is god awful ugly (gold is my absolute most hated color) and the interior is pretty beat, but the drivetrain is pretty solid. Getting a bit of tranny shudder at 45-55, a bit of power steering shake, and it supposedly needs an EGR valve (although I found a huge hole in the air filter, which may be the cause of the CEL). Also has the classic Explorer lean, drivers side is a good inch lower than the pass. side. Still rides nice however, no squeaks or rattles and it drives surprisingly smooth on the highway.

Tomorrow I will do some minor tune up items and do a DEEP cleaning on the interior!

If anyone is wondering, the bug shield and front plate bracket are already gone

i started to notice a little bit of smoke the other day coming from underneath the explorer, i go underneath and i see coolant on the bell housing, and on a few other parts underneath there ...

is it my headgasket or could it be the heater control valve leaking? how would i know if the HCV is leaking?

any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Looks like I'm moving to FL!

Well it looks like I'm moving to Florida within the next couple months. I've just had enough of New Jersey and I'm looking to make a nice change for myself. I am about to get engaged (finally) within the next month and I'll probably be moving out around January 1 2011.

I'll most likely either end up in the Jacksonville or Orlando area. Are there any ExplorerX members down there possibly? :!:

I have two options for employment. I'm either trying to get a job in IT (with anyone who will pay reasonably) or I will be working for another company which is guaranteed to me but I won't be doing IT with that company. If anyone has any networking contacts in those areas let me know!

I'm also checking out two schools in the area down there for an MBA program. I won't start immediately, but probably within the next year or so. It'll be a good feeling to go back to school (at night of course) and continue my education, I think it's important if you can afford to do so.

Alright so that's what is going on with me!

Mustang GT 5.0 vs BMW E90 M3

Wow, I'm really impressed!

http://www.autoblog....against-bmw-m3/

For me, the stock dampers needs to go. Imagine it with a aftermarket setup/chassis. It will surely cure some of the body roll and brake dive.

I'm actually so impressed that I'm considering a Stang as my next car. Sure the M3 is much more of a precision drive, but the Ford is a great deal, lots of bang for the buck. Lets hope it's better than an Evo X which is another contender

Engine/performance wise it is in good condition. 79k original miles. BBK cold air intake, headers and piping installed.

mostly needs body work.

This is my project car, I want to restore something and learn how to drive stick at same time. Always have wanted a stang so I thought Id find myself a cheap foxbody.

This one is a killer deal, most of my friends couldnt believe I got it for 1,500
