Hey guys - been awhile since I posted, but eshocks.com is having a buy 3-get one free sale going on currently. I just paid $214 for 4 Bilstein shocks with free shipping via UPS ground. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, these generally go for around ~280ish for a set of 4. I skipped the axle wrap.

I'm hoping these will be as impressive as everyone says. I'm running cheapo Monroe's from about 60k miles ago, before I was dropped at all.

That may be debateable.
Nobody here has tried koni.
I'd like to but just 2 cost $50 more than all 4 bilsteins.
Koni's are my fav, they are just costly.

Thanks for the heads up temposs, that's a smoking deal. May get me some. Since the lifetime warranty doesn't mean crap unles you have a spare set to put on, while your's are being done.

I see Koni's as being too stiff like my KYBs were.

I wanted to replace my front but maybe I'll go with all four and keep the old as backup. Thanks for the heads up on this sale!

Edit: Sweet! Just went to the site, and it looks like they offer a discount if only one pair is bought too so it's still a smoking deal!

I'm pretty sure they are adjustable.
Not the knob style though, they have to be partially removed (one side).
If they are anything like the mustang adjustable reds i have, the soft setting is quite nice.

BTW, i just checked tire rack, and the koni's are each $15 off.

When I replaced my shocks late last year, I thought about going with Koni. But I couldn't just justify spending that much money right now. Has anyone here ever actually used Konis?

I've used Konis on Mustangs with very good results. I don't have any experience with them on Explorers so I can't help you there, but if they are anything alike, I would recommend them. You can't go wrong with the Bilsteins though.
