I'm wondering what replacement windshield wiper blades people are putting on their explorers - especially a little bit older ones with a little flatter windshields? I upgraded my wipers on my 07 Mazda 3 to trico neoform beam blades and they completely rock 7 months into it - clean really good and don't make any noise. That said, its a newer vehicle and the windshield is fairly curved. Has anyone upgraded to the newer style frameless/flat wiper blades on an older explorer? Do they fit right? How do they perform? How do they look?

Thanks,
Jeff

I've been using Bosch Icons for over 3 years. I got two years out of my first set. I'm using 21" blades on my Gen 2 Explorer.

I still like the Michelin wipers that I discovered at Walmart. They are not high and work well, they last about two years or so.

Bosch Icons, I've had them for 2 years. Nothing has worked better, I picked them up on eBay for half of what local stores wanted.

In the winter I buy the Michelin ones from Wal-Mart, in the summer I use the cheap $3 ones from Wal-Mart. Our weather doesn't really dictate needing good wipers here in the summer. And since I have a loose wire probably in the switch my wipers randomly turn on for a couple swipes while driving I go through about 4-5 sets of wipers a year.

Wow, that's why I stopped buying the cheapies. The ice kills them here but I try to take care of them.

I've used the Icons as well for a few years. I might be switching to the Valeo Ultimates though.

Doesn't matter what we use in Phoenix. We buy them the day it rains and then don't use them for four months and when you go to use again they're all dried up and make poor contact on the glass! So then you go out and buy a new set lol! I have had good success with at least extending the life a bit by using the alcohol wipes they sometimes provide to clean the blade...

Keep Rain-X on the glass, that helps a bunch to lubricate the blades and save the glass.
