First, use a flathead to unclip the plastic piece around the door release handle, and remove the two retaining screws above the door release handle:
Once these are removed, you can start prying at the bottom corner to release the pullpins that fasten the panel to the door.

There are 7 or 8 pull-pins on each door panel. Once you've got the pins free you can release the door panel by grabbing the sides of the panel and lifting upward about 1.5". The panel hangs on the frame by a plastic clip (or two, depending on the door) and the window sill rubber stripping. Lift past these and the panel will come away from the door.

If this is the driver door, unplug the exterior mirror control plug. Remove the courtesy bulb from the inside of the panels by turning and gently pulling until it releases. On ALL doors, slide the window switch panel off by pulling inwards away from the panel.

The window switch panel will hang from it wiring harness. There is no need to unscrew the window switch junction box.

The door panel can now be fully removed, gaining access to the speakers, door wiring and locking/opening componentry, and exterior mirror removal bolts.

Here is the loose door panel.

Re-installation is the reverse order of these steps (hang it, clip it, and screw it down). Strongly recommended is that you pick up a $4 box of retaining clips to replace the bent, loose, or lost ones you've suffered through your endeavors. There are 16 in total, I believe. Packages of 3 and 15 are available at your local parts store.
