On our Forums, it takes the cooperation of a few outstanding individuals to keep our boards within policy and presentable as a family atmosphere. Our moderator team is "Team ExplorerX", and we proudly serve the ExplorerX community. Without "Team ExplorerX", this site would not be able to function in the capacity and quality that it is today.
If you're interested in learning more about the history of ExplorerX, make sure you check out the About ExplorerX page. Now without any further ado, let's meet the team:
RobRob is the founder and administrator of ExplorerX and oversees all operations of the site. Although he has finally moved on from owning a Ford Explorer for his daily driver, he will always remain an Explorer fanboy at heart. He owned a black 1999 Explorer Sport that had evolved through several "modding phases." Hs final, notable modifications include Oznium.com FlowLighting HIDs at 6,000K temperature, an Explorer Express Airdam and hood scoop, a Street Scenes chrome grille, and diamond cut headlights and clear corners. Rob is tirelessly active in regards to all aspects of the site and constantly looks for ways to improve the functionality and features.
![]() | Ryan / 03ExplorerSPTRyan is part of the original moderating team, and has an always show-worthy polish job done to his 2003 silver Explorer Sport. Ryan has a modest sound system installed, clear corners up front, and probably a bottle of polish or sealant in his center console ready to go. Ryan is a resident detailing aficionado, and is always very helpful with this information. Ryan is currently enrolled at Embry-Riddle and plans to become a pilot upon graduation with a major airline. |
Joe / 2000XP8Joe is also part of the original moderating team, and is the proud owner of XP8 2000-0030. Joe has a custom sound system with the Saleen logo beveled onto the box, a custom center console with a LCD screen hooked up to a navigation system, and a raft of aftermarket performance upgrades. Most notably, Joe has an Explorer Express X-Charger equipped in his engine bay. You can read all about Joe's Saleen in our featured article which was originally published in late 2003. Joe also has a custom early 90's foxbody Mustang that is about to have a 2003 SVT Cobra engine swapped in. Joe is by far our resident gearhead and performance expert, especially related to 5.0L V8 engines. Joe has assisted fellow Saleen Explorer owners numerous times, and even had the correct Explorer windshield Saleen banner cut and reproduced for fellow Saleen owners.
![]() | Eric / 99SportXEric is one of our most recent moderator additions, and has a very impressive Explorer Sport that now has a custom 5.0L V8 engine swap in place, and a Mountaineer front end swap. Eric did all of the work himself, and over the timespan of approximately a year, meticulously performed the swap in his garage. Eric is going to school for mechanical engineering, so he's putting what he learns in class to work in his Sport. Eric also monotoned his Sport himself, setting up a mock paint booth also in garage. The results are excellent. Truly, Eric is a jack-of-all-trades. Eric has substantial knowledge regarding engine swaps, performance, and always seems to surprise us in one way or another. |
![]() | BillBill is another one of our most recent moderator additions, and recently just sold his 2003 Explorer XLT NBX. Before selling it, Bill had the interior and exterior decked out with a custom sound system, 20" Cobra R's, only to be replaced with black 22" wheels with a polished lip. He had a custom hood paint job, hood scoop, black headlight lenses and clear corners, billet grilles, a rear wing, and much more. It was unique from top to bottom, inside and out. Bill has a lot of great knowledge regarding sound systems, and specifically 3rd generation Explorers. Bill now drives a Lincoln LS and a tricked out Mustang GT. |
Matt / Black MagicMatt is also part of our original moderating team, and has a very impressive 2001 Explorer Sport. Matt started his modding early, and was able to obtain a few authentic Saleen Explorer parts before they were discontinued for good. He managed to get an authentic Saleen rear wing, swaybar set, and shocks. He has custom 20" wheels wrapped in Goodyear tires, a custom sound system with headrest LCDs, monotoned paint job, and a slick rollpan that he built himself from scratch. Matt has named his Sport the "Explorer Street", and has taken it to numerous car shows and won several awards. Matt has toned down his Explorer days, focusing now on his family and local community sports teams.
![]() | Todd / IAmToddTodd is another one of our most recent moderator additions, and owns a 2000 Explorer XLT that really has become an impressive car inside and out. Todd just recently performed an interior swap, with four bucket seats from a Ford Taurus. He has a "touring" theme to his Explorer, with white 18" Saleen wheels, custom front fog lights and a rear wing for a touch of style. Todd keeps his modifications clean and functional. |
![]() | Carmen / mossman8235Carmen is yet another recent moderator addition, and owns a 2005 Explorer XLT that has been modified pretty extensively with elements of show and a "wangin' sound system" as he would say. His Explorer is currently rolling on 22" chrome wheels, has billet grilles up front with OEM clear corners, tinted taillights, limo tint all around, Aviator window trim, and more. Inside, he has an impressive custom sound system and sub box that he built himself, and is always upgrading it to make the sound even more impressive. Carmen is constantly on the boards helping members with sound system questions, and general modification advice. |
![]() | Tommy / Tommy98016Tommy is another member of the original moderator team, and is the proud owner of XP8 1998-0016. Tommy has kept his XP8 stock in all respects, except for some performance upgrades including an Explorer Express X-Charger kit. Tommy keeps his XP8 immaculate and very low on mileage, and is known for not driving his XP8 in anything less than sunny, dry weather. Tommy also owns a 2003 SVT Cobra Mustang, and has since devoted a lot of time and money into making it a horsepower machine. Last count, Tommy's Cobra well exceeded 500hp. Tommy still remains active on the boards assisting fellow Saleen Explorer owners and offers performance advice. |
